“Show and Tell for All Ages…” by Linda Martin Andersen

A Writer's Playground Fotosearch_u17996074 “A Writer’s Playground”–A place to find wordplay, writing, and monthly calendar activities for kids and those young at heart.

Have you ever played “Show and Tell?”  It is a favorite in most lower elementary grades. “The Remaining Gift” by Starr Ayers is a devotion that shares a variation of this game.  What a lovely holiday tradition.  Check here:

Let’s talk:  What item could you bring for “Show and Tell” this year?  I’d share a stack of cards sent to my husband and me during his illness.  I’d say a big thank you to all who have sent prayers and best wishes our way.

Thank You!

I encourage you to let this game impact your New Year’s Resolutions for 2014. Visualize the “Show and Tell” you’d like to share at the end of 2014.  Then set your goal(s).  What tangible object will remind you of your goal(s)?

Thank you for visiting “A Writer’s Playground.”  Please come again soon.  Bring a friend. I appreciate any children who visit this site, but if you are 13 or under, you must not leave a comment. 1. I think I would bring my latest project… It has given me lots of grief and is still not finished!A reminder to work in 2014.

  2. Maureen,
I bet a group of writer and illustrator friends would put their heads together with you. Bring it on.

    Dear Linda,
Thank you for all of your uplifting activities and fun posts. What a good way to se goals. Showing and telling is a great way. You are amazing.

  4. I love this visualization idea, LInda. I am imagining a stack of papers– a completed (hopefully final?) draft of my ms. I hope I can make it possible!

  5. Linda, I love your selfless show and tell. Your heart is so in the right place. I loved show and tell as a kid. I brought a partridge claw to school, and then I’d pull the tendons to scare the boys. LOL Thanks for the devotional link. 🙂 For show and tell for 2014, I hope I’ll have a book published. 🙂

    • Tracy,
I look forward to hearing that “Show and Tell” announcement for you too. Thanks for the compliment about my “Show and Tell” for 2013. I remember looking forward to the game at school too. I never took a partridge though. I don’t think they can be found in North Carolina. I would love to have seen you scaring off the boys. Funny girl!

  6. Hee, hee. 🙂

  7. I always loved show and tell as a kid. Now we get to do it on a blog! 🙂

  8. Tim,
